- All Heirloom products are made in New Zealand from the finest imported imitation fur fabrics and backed with plush velour. The fabrics used in our throws and cushions are made from modacrylic or acrylic and polyester fibres making them beautifully soft and luxurious. Care & Cleaning: Heirloom Faux Furs Throws and Cushions can be dry-cleaned on a delicate cycle. As synthetic fur can singe (becomes matted/fuzzy in appearance) when subjected to high heat, ensure that drycleaners use mild settings to maintain the silky finish. Do not use high heat or normal heat settings. Synthetic fur can also be hand washed in max 30 Degrees. Do not rub or wring and drip drying is recommended. Hanging in breeze helps to restore the pile. Light combing using a pet comb or brush can be applied carefully. Due to high UV ratings in New Zealand, keep dark or tinted colours away from direct sunlight to prevent fading or discolouration.
